Legal Studies (SQA Level 6) introduces learners to the Scottish legal system and how law affects everyday life. Pupils study key areas such as criminal and civil law, human rights, and the role of courts and legal professionals. The course builds understanding of legal processes while developing skills in reasoning, research and evaluating evidence, supporting progression to further study or careers linked to law and public services.

Criminology (SQA Level 6) explores crime, criminal behaviour and society’s response to offending. Students examine why people commit crime, how crime is measured, the impact on victims and communities, and the effectiveness of punishment and rehabilitation. The course encourages critical thinking about justice and social issues, while developing research and analytical skills useful for further study in criminology, social sciences and related careers.
