Design and Manufacture

Design and Manufacture is a creative, practical subject where students learn to take a design idea from a brief through drawing and planning to making a real product or prototype. Pupils develop practical skills with materials and tools, think about how things work and why they are made the way they are, and consider how design and manufacturing affect people and the environment. The subject builds problem‑solving, creative thinking and practical skills that are useful for further study and technical careers.
