Physical Education in Scotland is part of the Health and Wellbeing area of the curriculum and gives young people structured, regular opportunities to be active, learn movement skills and understand how physical activity supports their health now and in the future. It helps pupils develop confidence and competence in a variety of physical activities and sports, and builds personal and social skills like teamwork, resilience and self‑reflection. Through active, enjoyable learning, PE supports healthy lifestyle habits and contributes to pupils becoming more confident, capable learners and individuals.
